Surf Equipment
Word of the day: travel light!
The word of the day is to travel light, obviusly this is just a reccomandation.
Too many times you will see in line-ups at the check-in counters surfers that carry multiple bags don't forget you are going to the Maldives and for the most part of the day you will be wearing a bathingsuit and t-shirt.
For Surfers
We suggest to bring 1-2 boards from 6,4ft to 7,2ft. For longboarder bring "stretched" boards for fast waves. We do recommend to bring some extra fins and leashes also a quick repair kit as the closest repair shop is in the capital (Malè). We also suggest to bring protective footwear for amateur surfers ( spots are on coral reefs ) and long sleeves lycra to protect yourself from sun irritations.
For Non-Surfers
We suggest to bring confortable clothes. On board, if you choose a surf boat, 90% of the time you will be using a bathingsuite and will be barefoot. If you suffer the cold you can bring a couple of cotton sweaters for colder evenings. Don't forget your snorkling equipment! Also a sarong, a hat/bandana and plenty of suntan lotion. To capture all of your magic moments don't forget your camera and/or camcorder...and why not bring a good book to help you truly relax.
