Frequently asked questions regarding surfing at the Maldives.

To surf in Lohi do you have to pay?
Surfing in Lohi is free for all of the guests of the resort.

When is the best time to go to the Maldives?
Certanly the best surfing conditions are between May and October.

I am a longboarder is there a spot that is better suited?
All surf spots with swells conditions of about 3/6 ft are decent for longboard. For mid level surfers we reccomend Sultans and Honkys.

How can I go about booking a trip?

What air lines do you suggest? Which companies do not make you pay additional fees for surfing boards?
We advise to book through Emirates and Qatar airways as they offer the best price/quality ratio.

Can I rent a board at the Resort?
If you are staying at Hudhuran Fushi it is possible to rent SofthPoin and Bic. boards. We truly advise to bring your own surfing gear if possible.

What documents do I need to travel to the Maldives?
For all European/ North American tourists is required a valid passport with a 6 month gap before expiration date.

If I am a non-surfer what activities are available?
Don't forget that you are in a tropical Paradise! We suggest snorkelling in the coral reef, a shopping trip in the capital: Malè, and also all sort of activities offered from the Resort such us tennis, sailing, beauty spa..., dolphin excursions, and lots and lots of sun and relaxation!

Are there any surf excursion to take part of?
If your staying within the Resort everyday there are baots available (dhoni) of about 4-8 people that go to nearby spots. If you are on a surfing boat then everyday will definately be an excursion!

Are any of the Spots dangerous?
All of the spots are on reef shelf, therefore you must always pay attention although the risks are fairly low.
